My Mom's 2010 Christmas Gift

Yes, this painting was my mom's Christmas gift...of 2010.
It has taken me 6 months to post this picture, but it is because I had this picture on my camera and had not downloaded it. Than it went onto my external hard drive and I forgot about it. Well, now it is posted!!!
My mother likes the thick, swirly type of painting, so I decided lasts year to finally do a wine bottle and grapes for her gift.

It looks epic. ^_^ The texture makes it seem... alive. And the background colors help your eyes foxus on the subject--the wine bottle and the grapes. :) Again, epic picture. I really love how you did the colors.

Yeah, the colors really seemed to come together, with the gold finishing it off.

Again, thank you!! ;D

Oh, weird... I spelled focus 'foxus.' XD

Yeah, the gold really sets it off. I love how you textured the grapes and the leaves, too. :) The wine bottle is good as well.

So, I guess I can just say this: I love the painting!

Yeah, the texture seemed to all fit with eachother, though I had no idea what I was doing on this painting!!

I never have any idea what I'm doing on a painting. ^_^ I do the colors as they come to me. I just know the main colors--like, the sky will be blue, the grass will be green--but I never know exactly how I'll *do* it.

Neither did I, until my eyes skimmed it...

Beatrice is snuffling at my feet. ^_^

Well, most of the time I try to go with the original background, but sometimes I have to make it up on my own. This is one that is made up, but the strict colors were ones that were already in the original background. Greens, Browns and Gold. I took my biggest brush and globbed green in one place, and brown in another, blending them together but still keeping one more concentrated. Then it was safe to add the gold, which also got it's own place in the background.

^_^ lol

Awww, Bea is ADORABLE!!!!
We are baby-sitting our friend's cat right now, so a fat, grey blog is hanging out with me :) Hehe, she is so cute XD

I know. :) I try that, too, but sometimes an unknown background gives it character, life. If you did a regular background--you know, like a wall, a cabinet--it might not turn out as... inspiring. It wouldn't be the same painting at all. :)

Mhm :)
Yes, sometimes a 'creative' background gives it way more personality.
