Ivory Queen

Black and white painting

I have has trouble painting because of the heat that we are getting. Because it is hot we have had our windows open, which means air flow, which dries out the paint before I can work with it. But all-in-all the painting worked out.
Thanks to Vrenith, this painting has been named "Ivory Queen". Great name, Vren!!!!!! LOVE it!!!
I am working on other horse paintings so look out for them.

If you would like to purchase a print of this painting, you can do so here.

Okay... I just had a weird thought when I looked at the horse. I thought, 'Galadriel...' Weird.

Maybe it was because of how the light glints off of the pupil and the forelock blows across it--sort of makes the horse look wise and proud, coupled with how its a bit dark around the eyes... I really love this painting. Now, for names...

Silver Ivory, The Ivory King (or Queen) Silver Lining, Gallant, or maybe Monarch? Silly me, I can only think of 'royal' names... :P What else? Hmm... Wellm I can't seem to think of anything else. :P

But excellent work on the shadows! Especially on the mane and the muzzle--those tend to be the hardest spots. :)

EPIC!!

=D Thank ye, Vrenith!!!

Hmmm, thats interesting...it does sort of look like Galadriel. In a weird, neet, horse-ish kind of way.

I really like "The Ivory Queen", and "Monarch". The horse does look royal and those names fit really well!!! Great suggestions. I will definitaly choose one of those two!!

ACH, YES. The mane, and muzzle ALWAYS get me stummped when I paint.

THANKS!!!

Okay. Glad I was a help!

Yes! One is so hard not to get the lights too dark on, and the other is hard to get really dark while still being able to define the different shadows. O_o

Me too!! That's a perfect name for this painting!!!

Oh, yes. Oh-so very hard to do...

Random, but I'm reading "Isle of Swords, and Isle of Fire" right now. 'Tis interesting books :) I like 'em!

Thanks again - Leauphaun

:)

Extremely, very, muchly hard.

Ooh! I love those books. They're extremely good writing, have an excellent antagonist AND protagonist, and plot! I really like 'em. :)

Mhm.

They are great books, and now I am getting The Spider King, and Venom Song (I think those are the names) in the library soon :)

They are. Well, I think they're 'Curse of the Spider King' and 'Venom and Song...' I've read those WAY too many times--but I love 'em SO much. Good luck on those!! They're really good!! And then after that you'll have to read Sword in the Stars as well...

And then the book after that. Look for the name Vrenith in there, because I won a contest with a bunch of other people, so I get to be a character (not sure if I'll be a major or a minor one) in the Errant King, the book after Sword in the Stars. :D

Hahaha, yes those are the names. I totally got them wrong!!
Yeah, I'm liking these books more than "Isle of Swords/Fire". I enjoy reading more of the knight/elven type of books so these are already my new favorite books (alongside The Door Within trilogy).

Really??!! THAT IS SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!! I will definitely look out for that!!! *squeals excitedly*

Not totally... you were pretty close. The only reason I know them so well is because I've read them too many times. XD

Yeah... WTB is epic at that sort of stuff. I think every single of his books are fantasy. Well, except for one he's coming out with that is an older-teen thriller... Ghost.

I KNOW!! My friend already got put in as 'Jaavere Amberstill.' You follow her blog, right? Well, she's not an immediate character--meaning she's not really a character, just someone who 'wrote' a quote in the book. WTB posted the quote. :D

Wait... THE ERRANT KING COMES OUT THIS MONTH!! I don't know how I forgot that... >_>
